Here are some frequently asked questions
if there are still questions you have after exploring my website - please email me!
DO YOU DELIVER EVERY IMAGE YOU SHOOT?
No, I do my best to eliminate duplicate images, test shots, or missed focused shots. I will deliver the best pictures out of the bunch – and therefore, will eliminate the duplicate ones, or aren't quite up to the quality that you deserve.
DO YOU Edit ALL THE IMAGES IN OUR Online gallery?
Yes I do. I do not deliver "raw" files to clients - and most photographers do not. You hire us for a service and editing images is part of that service. Keep this in mind when hiring a photographer because each photographer has a different editing style. Every image that I deliver is edited with my unique style of post-production. This includes color correction, exposure adjustment, clarity adjustments, tone-adjusting, and other corrections to enhance the portraits. Please refer to the images on my website to see the type of style that your photographs could look like in your online gallery.
Do you photoshop the images in addition to the editing?
This is a loaded question and a delicate topic for many. If this is a concern for you, please look into this before booking a session with ANY photographer. I do my best to flatter the body with suggestions throughout the session. However, there is only so much that is in my control as the photographer. Any choices on temporary tattoos, henna, face paint, etc. are out of my control and should be thought about before scheduled sessions. Post production in the form of airbrushing, teeth whitening, and hair color changes are not easily made or encouraged, despite what you may see on social media. My goal always is to capture authentic images that reflect you and your loved ones. That being said, I do go through photos carefully and will edit out some blemishes.
WHEN CAN WE EXPECT TO SEE OUR PICTURES FROM OUR SESSION?
Typically, 2-3 weeks is the turn around for portrait sessions. Expect to see sneak previews of the session via an online gallery between 48-72 hours to get you excited to see the rest and to also get you familiar with using and downloading from the online gallery. Notice will be given in advance if a few extra days are needed to give the appropriate amount of care for post-production during busy seasons (as I am a full-time teacher, and part-time photographer). 99% of the time I budget my time adequately, but thank you for giving me grace when unexpected situations happen!
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK A SESSION?
AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! I cannot stress this enough – I want to ensure that you get the perfect experience and your preferred date, time, and location. High demand season is May-October with dates booking up quickly for many photographers. If you are even in the beginning stages of wanting to book, contact me to get the conversation started!
WHAT ABOUT LOCATIONS, POSES, AND OTHER DETAILS?
My main goal of a session is to highlight your beauty and uniqueness. I want to involve your decisions as much as possible. I can give suggestions for locations, but I would love your input on any location that would be memorable for you! These photographs are a reflection of you - and I do not want that to be lost during our session. I will make suggestions on positioning, such as, if your hands should be slightly lowered for a ring detail shot, or to shift to get a gorgeous background - but other than that I want you to be in control and how you naturally are; belly laughs & all!
HOW DO YOU GO ABOUT POSTING THE PHOTOS OF CLIENTS?
I love sharing my work, however, I do understand sometimes people would like more privacy. Please be sure to let me know your level of comfortability with the images being used on social media before our scheduled session. This is also outlined and signed in our contract agreement.
How many images should I expect to see in my online gallery?
Amount of images delivered is dependent on a few factors. One factor is the session length. Mini sessions are expected to have least amount, given the allotted time. Portrait sessions that are an hour are expected to at least have 45-60 images, and family sessions are expected to at least have 60-75 images at minimum.
These are the "minimum" expected ranges, however, can fluctuate based on circumstances - different locations, needing to walk in between spots, client ideas, variety of shots desired (different pairings or groupings in family session), etc.
